QRP (Low Power Operating)
Operating on the amateur bands with low power, or QRP, continues to be one of the more popular aspects of amateur radio; the G-QRP Club has had a steady membership of around 4000 for over a decade.
This chapter is intended to provide an overview of QRP and to signpost the reader to further sources of information if this proves to be of interest. The author has been licensed for nearly forty years and most of his operating has been QRP, but he has been known to turn up the wick on occasion; being keen on QRP is not like some ethical commitment, it is just good fun and can be extremely rewarding.
