To the radio amateur and electronics enthusiast, test equipment is a must have for activities such as checking and demonstrating compliance with the licence conditions, servicing equipment and for testing self-built projects. In recent years, basic test equipment of quite remarkable accuracy and functionality has become available on the market, which can be bought cheaply and acquired quickly via the internet. This has largely dispensed with the need to build such equipment, so that time and money can be spent on buying or building more exotic radio equipment or accessories. This trend is reflected here, where there is more emphasis on the operation and correct use of basic test equipment, with self-building being confined to more specialist equipment and accessories.
